Sewing Instructions
- Fuse the FACING pieces with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
- Stitch the princess seams of the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center and overcast.
- Overcast the center seams of the BACK PANEL separately. Stitch the center seam of the BACK PANEL from the ZIPPER mark to the bottom edge, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Stitch the darts on the FRONT PANEL, press depths upwards. Overcast the bottom edge of the FRONT PANEL, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Overcast the outer edge of the FLOUNCE, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Place the FLOUNCE onto the FRONT PANEL and secure along the side seam and armhole. Then treat the FRONT PANEL as one piece.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the FACINGS. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Overcast the center seams and the outer edge of the FACING. Place the dress and FACING right sides together and stitch the neckline. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn the FACING out, straighten and press. Stitch the armhole in two steps: first the BACK PANEL, then the FRONT PANEL. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn out, press. Secure the FACING to the garment at the side seams. Attach the FACING to the ZIPPER tape.
- Overcast the bottom edge of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Cut a BIAS BINDING 3 cm wide and 7 cm long. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES and turn the piece right side out. Adjust the loop length and sew to the right FLOUNCE. Sew a button to the left FLOUNCE.
