ATTENTION! The lower edges of the SLEEVES and FLOUNCES are not finished. Pattern pieces should be placed along the GRAIN LINE of the fabric.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the corresponding pieces.
- Stitch darts on the BACK PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center back seam. Stitch darts on the FRONT PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center. Stitch darts on the FLOUNCE pieces. Press darts towards the center of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL respectively.
- Stitch shoulder and side SEAM ALLOWANCES on the upper pieces. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Stitch side SEAM ALLOWANCES of the FLOUNCES. Overcast SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the BACK PANEL. Stitch side SEAM ALLOWANCES of the lower parts. Overcast SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the BACK PANEL.
- Fold the COLLAR in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the ends. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES at the corners and turn right side out.
- Stitch darts on the LINING pieces. Trim dart depths and press towards the center. Stitch side and shoulder SEAM ALLOWANCES. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Stitch the neckline of the dress with the LINING, inserting the COLLAR between the main fabric and LINING pieces. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn the LINING to the inside. Secure the main fabric and LINING at the lower edge and armhole edge. Then treat as one piece.
- Stitch the upper and lower parts of the dress, inserting the FLOUNCE. Overcast SEAM ALLOWANCES and press upwards.
- Fold the waistband lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side. Turn the waistband right side out. Press, centering the seam. Place the waistband on the dress, covering the waist seam. Secure the waistband SEAM ALLOWANCES to the center back seam.
- Overcast the center back SEAM ALLOWANCES separately. Stitch the center back seam from the NOTCH for the ZIPPER to the hem. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Stitch the SLEEVE seam. Overcast SEAM ALLOWANCES and press towards the back. Set in the SLEEVES according to the markings. Overcast SEAM ALLOWANCES.
- Fold the bow piece right sides together and stitch along three sides, leaving an opening for turning. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES at the corners, turn the bow right side out, and press. Hand-stitch the opening closed. Cut a TRIM STRIP 6 x 6 cm. Stitch along one side and turn. Insert the bow into the TRIM STRIP and sew to the dress, according to the technical sketch.
- Overcast the hem SEAM ALLOWANCES of the dress, press to the wrong side, and hem with blind stitches.
