Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on BACK PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center seam. Stitch the bust dart on the right FRONT PANEL, press the dart depth upwards.
- Form and secure pleats on the lower right FRONT PANEL (depths directed downwards). On the lower left FRONT PANEL, cut 5 cm along the vertical slit edge. On both lower FRONT PANEL pieces, reinforce the slit from the wrong side. On the right side, mark the princess seam line (slit fold line). Press the left part along the slit fold line; on the right part, press only the right slit allowance (6 cm) to the wrong side. Align the pieces along the princess seam and secure at the upper slit edge. Overcast the princess seam edge of the lower FRONT PANEL separately on each piece. Overcast the slit allowances. Stitch the princess seam from the upper edge to the slit corner. Clip the slit seam allowance corner on the right part. Press the seam allowances and slit allowances and secure them on the right side with machine stitching.
- Stitch the princess seam of the upper FRONT PANEL from the armhole edge to the mark on the left FRONT PANEL. Press allowances towards the center and overcast.
- Stitch the left side seam of the upper dress, press allowances towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
- Overcast the upper edge of the peplum LINING. Fold the peplum LINING with the main garment right sides together and stitch along the side and lower edges. Trim allowances at corners, turn the LINING to the wrong side, and press.
- Stitch the right side seam of the upper dress, press allowances towards the BACK PANEL and overcast. Stitch the side seams of the lower dress, press allowances towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
- Stitch the upper and lower parts of the dress (in the peplum area, the main fabric of the lower part is stitched to the peplum LINING). Press allowances upwards and overcast.
- Overcast the center BACK PANEL edge separately on each piece. Stitch the center BACK PANEL edge from the mark to the lower edge, press allowances open. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Stitch the shoulder edges, press allowances towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
- Overcast the lower SLEEVE edge allowance, fold inwards, and topstitch. Set the SLEEVE into the armhole.
- Stitch the darts, side, and princess seams of the LINING, press allowances. Overcast the lower edge and center BACK PANEL edges. Stitch the neckline edge with the LINING. Stitch the armhole edges in two steps: first the BACK PANEL, then the FRONT PANEL (the SLEEVE is positioned between the LINING and the main fabric). Secure the waist edge to the lower LINING edge to secure the peplum. Secure the center LINING allowance to the ZIPPER tape.
- Overcast the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side, and hem with blind stitches. Attach the slit allowance to the hem.
