Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the BACK PANEL princess seams, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center and serge. Attach the BACK YOKES to the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the yoke and serge. Serge the center back seam separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the ZIPPER mark downwards, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open, pressing the slit. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Attach the lower gores to the center FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES, and serge. Stitch the FRONT PANEL princess seams, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center and serge. Attach the FRONT YOKE to the FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the yoke and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the dress, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder seams on the inner YOKES, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge. Serge the bottom edge.
- Place the inner yoke with the outer yoke and stitch the neckline edge. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES, turn the inner yoke to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Hand stitch the center edges of the inner yoke to the ZIPPER tape. Topstitch the inner yoke into the seam attaching the outer yoke and then treat as one piece.
- Serge the lower edge of the SLEEVE. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCE inwards and topstitch. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes, serge SEAM ALLOWANCES. Cut a BIAS BINDING 4 cm wide and a length equal to the length of the lower part of the armhole + 6 cm. Fold the BIAS BINDING in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge on the right side, leaving tails, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the seams, and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Serge the lower edge of the dress. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES inwards and topstitch.
