Cutter's Must
- From main fabric:
- Center Back – 2 pieces
- Side Back – 2 pieces
- Center Front – 1 piece
- Side Front – 2 pieces
- Front Yoke – 2 pieces
- Back Yoke – 4 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the princess seams on the back and front pieces. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the center of the pieces.
- Overlock the center back seam separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark downwards. Press open the seam allowances, pressing the slit. Insert the invisible zipper. Stitch the outer Back Yokes to the back. Press the seam allowance upwards. The center edge of the yoke extends by 1 cm!
- Along the upper edge of the center front, stitch with a loosely tensioned upper thread and gather. Stitch the outer Front Yoke to the Center Front and Side Fronts. Press the seam allowance upwards.
- On the outer yokes, stitch the shoulder seams together with the stand edges. Press the allowances open.
- Make a narrow fabric tube (rouleau) for the button loops. Cut it into 5 pieces.
- On the inner yokes, stitch the shoulder seams together with the stand edges. Press open the seam allowances. Overlock the lower edges of the yokes. Place the outer and inner yokes right sides together and stitch the neckline. Stitch the centre back edges of the yokes, inserting the button loops on one side. Clip the seam allowance. Turn the inner yokes to the wrong side and press the neckline. Secure the yokes together along the armhole edge (then treat as one piece). Stitch the inner yokes in place through the outer yoke attaching seam.
- Stitch the side seams. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the back. Set the sleeve into the armhole. Overlock the seam allowance.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the dress and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Sew on buttons.
