- From main fabric:
- 1. Center back with flounce - 2 pieces
- 2. Side back with flounce - 2 pieces
- 3. Right front - 1 piece
- 4. Side front - 2 pieces
- 5. Left front – 1 piece
- 6. Flounce – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the princess seams of the back. Press seam allowances towards the center and overlock. Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the seam allowance and press to the left side.
- On the right front, create and secure the pleats. The pleat depths should face downwards.
- Stitch the shoulder seams. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Finish the outer edge of the flounce with a narrow rolled hem. Place the flounce onto the right neckline and topstitch. Overlock the seam. Cut (if not pre-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and with a length equal to the neckline length of the left front and the neckline length of the left back + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the trim strip with the neckline edge, right sides together, and stitch. Clip the seam allowances. Fold the trim strip to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece, simultaneously topstitching the flounce insertion seam allowance. Press the seam.
- Place the right front over the left and secure along the princess seams. Stitch the princess seams of the front. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the center.
- Cut (if not pre-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and with a length equal to the armhole length + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the trim strip with the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Clip the seam allowances. Fold the trim strip to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
- Stitch the right side seam. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back. Overlock the left side seams separately on each piece. Stitch from the mark to the hem. Press the seam allowances open, pressing the slit for the zipper. Insert the zipper.
- Overlock the hem of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
