Sewing Instructions
- Fuse the waistband with fusible interfacing. Fuse the pocket lining in the area of the decorative flap.
- Place the pocket lining right sides together onto the front and stitch along the straight edges. Clip the seam allowance at the corner and turn the lining to the wrong side. Stitch the side and pocket lining along the pocket bag seam. Overlock the seam allowance. Turn the decorative flap onto the skirt. According to the notches, attach the pocket lining to the side and upper edges.
- Stitch the right side seam. Overlock and press open the seam allowances.
- Stitch the left side seam from the notch for the zipper to the hem. Press open the seam allowances. Insert the zipper. Overlock one long edge of the belt loop. Fold the unoverlocked edge inwards and press. Close the unoverlocked edge with the overlocked one and stitch two parallel lines, securing the seam allowance. Cut the belt loops to size.
- Attach the outer side of the waistband to the upper edge of the skirt, inserting the belt loops. Stitch the ends of the waistband, trim the seam allowances at the corners and turn out. Fold the inner edge of the waistband and topstitch into the attaching seam. Press the waistband when finished.
- Overlock the lower edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Fold the decorative waistband in half lengthwise and stitch along the contour, leaving an opening for turning. Trim the seam allowances at the corners and turn to the right side. Sew the opening closed. Press the waistband.
- Mark and make a buttonhole (on the waistband). Sew on the button.
