- Form and secure pleats on the outer front panel (depths directed downwards).
- Overlock the inner edges of the outer and inner front facings. Place facings with main pieces right sides together and stitch the bottom edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn facings to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Hem the edges of the facings with blind stitches.
- Layer the outer front panel over the inner front panel, secure along the edges, and treat as one piece. Stitch the front princess seam, press seam allowances towards the side edge and overlock.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the back panel. Stitch the side seams, wrapping the seam with the bottom panel allowance. Press allowances towards the back, overlock. Hem the bottom of the back panel with blind stitches.
- Stitch and press open the side seams of the facings. Overlock the bottom edge. Place the facing with the skirt right sides together and stitch the top edge. Topstitch seam allowances onto the facing 0.2 cm from the stitching line. Fold facings to the wrong side, press. Fold under the center edges and sew to the zipper tape.
