Tech. Description

Draped Cowl Neck Sheath Dress

This women's sewing pattern features a sophisticated sheath dress with an elegantly draped asymmetric cowl collar and a waist seam accented by a tie belt, offering a polished yet comfortable silhouette.

When To Wear

The refined design and versatile silhouette make this dress perfect for:

  • Professional Settings: Ideal for office wear or business meetings, exuding professionalism and style.
  • Cocktail Parties & Dinners: a chic choice for semi-formal gatherings, offering effortless elegance.
  • Special Occasions: Suitable for events where a sophisticated and polished look is desired.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: a flattering sheath silhouette with a waist seam, gently fitted through the bodice and skirt; the lower front is divided into a centre panel and two side panels.

Neckline: an asymmetric draped collar (right and left collar pieces), gathered between markings so that it falls in soft folds across the front.

Sleeves: Sleeveless design for a clean, modern aesthetic with finished armholes.

Waist: a waist seam accented with a separate self-fabric tie belt.

Back: a centre back seam and a waist seam, shaped with darts. The concealed zipper is inserted in the left side seam.

Length: a sophisticated knee-length hem, providing classic appeal.

Construction: A dart on the upper left front and darts on the back pieces ensure a contoured, tailored fit.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Requires skills in working with draping fabrics, constructing a cowl neck, setting a concealed zipper, and finishing armholes.

Fabric Recommendations
