Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
    1. Center back – 2 qty
    2. Side back – 2 qty
    3. Center front – 2 qty
    4. Side front – 2 qty
    5. Flounce — 2 qty
  • From fusible interfacing:
    1. Placket - 2 qty

Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface the placket.
  2. Stitch the princess seams on the front and back. Finish seam allowances and press towards the center. Stitch the center back seam. Finish seam allowances and press to the left side. Stitch the side seams. Finish seam allowances and press towards the back.
  3. Fold the cut-on-one placket to the wrong side, fold the seam allowance inwards, and topstitch 0.2 cm from the edge.
  4. Cut bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 6 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the trim strip with the armhole edge, right side to right side, leaving tails, and stitch. Fold the trim strip to the wrong side, clip the seams (notches), and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam. Finish the upper seam allowances of the front and back.
  5. Finish the long edges of the flounce with a rolled hem. Along the marked line, stitch with a loosely tensioned thread. Fold the flounce along the stitching line. Gather the flounce. Place the flounce face down on the wrong side of the blouse and attach it to the upper edge along the gathering stitch. Turn the flounce to the right side. Stitch the short sides of the flounce. Attach elastic trim strip to the shoulder area. Direct the flounce downwards and topstitch 1 cm from the top, stretching at the gathering level onto the elastic.
  6. Finish the bottom edge of the garment. Fold the seam allowance to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
  7. On the right side, make buttonholes; on the left side, sew on buttons.
