Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance – 2.0 cm, allowance for the outer edge of the flounce, for the neckline edges of the back and front – 0 cm, other seams – 1 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Center back - 2 pieces
- Side back - 2 pieces
- Side front - 2 pieces
- Center front - 1 piece
- Flounce – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the center back seam. Press allowances to the left side and overlock.
- Stitch shoulder seams separately on the center and side back and front parts, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the outer edge of the flounce + 3 cm. Press the binding in half lengthwise, right side out, unfold, fold the long edges to the center and press again. Bind the outer edge of the flounce. Alternatively, you can overlock the outer edge of the flounce with a narrow rolled hem.
- Stitch the center and side back and front parts, inserting the flounce between them. Press allowances towards the center, overlock.
- Cut a slit on the front and bind it with bias binding. Cut a bias binding with a length equal to the neckline of the back and front + 80 cm. Bind the neckline edge with bias binding, simultaneously forming the ties.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Overlock the left side seams separately. Stitch the side seams, leaving an opening for the zipper in the left side seam. Press the left seam open, press the right seam towards the back and overlock. Insert the zipper into the left side seam. Secure the side seam allowance to the armhole with 2-3 stitches.
- Press the bottom edge of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, and topstitch.
