Dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers with added elastane. You will also need: concealed ZIPPER; FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
CUTTER'S MUST
If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the dress bottom — 2 cm, sleeve hem — 1.5 cm, upper and lower belt loop allowance — 0 cm, other seams — 1 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Upper front part - 2 pieces
- Lower front part - 1 piece
- Upper side back part — 2 pieces
- Upper center back part — 2 pieces
- Lower side back part — 2 pieces
- Lower center back part — 2 pieces
- Placket — 2 pieces
- Sleeve — 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing — 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing — 1 piece
- Belt loop — 1 piece
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- Back neckline facing — 1 piece
- Front neckline facing — 2 pieces
- Placket — 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match!
- Interface the pieces with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
- Fold the placket lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch the upper corner. Turn the placket right side out and press.
- Fold the belt loop piece lengthwise in half and stitch the raw edges. Turn right side out, press, and cut according to the number of belt loops.
- Stitch the back princess seams on the upper parts. Finish the allowances and press towards the center. Stitch the center back seam. Finish the allowance and press to the left side.
- Stitch the darts on the lower front parts. Press the dart folds towards the center. Stitch the princess seams on the lower back parts. Finish the allowances and press towards the center. Stitch the center seam. Press the allowance to the left side.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the upper front and back parts. Finish the allowances and press towards the back.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings. Press the allowances open. Finish the outer edge of the facings. Place the facings on the neckline and stitch, inserting the plackets. Turn the facings to the wrong side and press.
- Along the lower edge of the upper front part, stitch with a loosely tensioned upper thread and gather between the straight marks. Place the right upper front part over the left part and secure along the lower edge.
- Align the lower edge of the belt loop with the lower edge of the upper back part and stitch 1 cm from the seam line. Fold the free end of the belt loop down and attach it to the allowance, aligning the raw edges. Similarly, attach the belt loops to the upper front part.
- Stitch the upper and lower back and front parts. Finish the allowances and press downwards.
- Stitch, finish, and press the right side seam towards the back. Finish the left side seams. Stitch the section under the armhole and the section from the bottom to the zipper mark. Press the allowance open. Insert the concealed ZIPPER.
- Stitch the sleeve seam. Finish the allowance and press towards the back. Set the sleeve into the armhole, matching the notches.
- Finish the bottom edge of the garment and the sleeve hems, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
- The dress is recommended to be worn with a belt 1.5 — 2 cm wide.
