Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics with elastane content from natural or blended fibers. Also needed: separating zipper (length equal to the length of the center back seam), fusible interfacing.
CUTTER'S MUST
If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for garment and sleeve hem – 2.5 cm, all other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need.
- From main fabric:
- Center back part – 2 pieces
- Center front part – 1 piece
- Side lower front part – 2 pieces
- Front sleeve part — 2 pieces
- Back sleeve part — 2 pieces
- From main fabric 2:
- Upper front part – 1 piece
- Center sleeve part — 2 pieces
- Front insert — 2 pieces
- Back insert — 2 pieces
- Upper back part – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing — 1 piece
- Back neckline facing — 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match!
- Reinforce facings with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the upper front part to the center front part. Overlock the allowance and press it downwards. Stitch the insert to the side front part. Overlock the allowance and press it downwards. Stitch the side part to the center part. Clip the corner and overlock. Press the allowance towards the center, and on the slanted section — downwards.
- On the center back part, clip the dart allowance towards the apex by 1 — 1.5 cm. Stitch the back insert. Overlock the allowances and press them downwards. Stitch the back darts. Stitch the upper part to the back. Overlock the allowance and press it downwards.
- Overlock the center back seam. Stitch the separating zipper to the back.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the back.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the facings. Press the allowances open. Overlock the facings along the outer edge. Face the neckline with the facing. Clip the allowances, turn to the right side and press. Secure the facings to the shoulder seams by hand. Secure the ends of the facings to the zipper.
- Stitch the sleeve parts. Overlock the allowances and press them away from the center. Set the sleeves into the armholes.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the dress and sleeves. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
