Introducing a women's made-to-measure sewing pattern for an elegantly draped one-shoulder maxi dress, featuring a blouson bodice, elasticated waist, and a flowing skirt.
Silhouette: a maxi-length dress featuring a relaxed, blouson bodice that flows into a slim, gently skimming skirt.
Neckline & Shoulder: An asymmetrical one-shoulder design with a wide, artfully twisted and draped band that extends gracefully over one shoulder, leaving the other bare.
Bodice: Characterized by generous draping that creates a flattering blouson effect, gathered at the waist.
Waist: Defined by an elasticated channel, drawing in the voluminous bodice to create a cinched yet comfortable fit above the skirt.
Sleeves: Sleeveless on one side, with the broad shoulder band extending into a softly draped detail that covers the upper arm on the other side.
Skirt: a long, straight skirt that gently follows the body's lines, falling to a maxi length for an elegant silhouette.
Hem: a clean, straight hemline maintaining the maxi length of the skirt.
Intermediate. Requires confident handling of knit fabrics, precise draping, and the application of elastic for the blouson effect.
Choose fabrics with good drape and medium stretch to achieve the desired blouson effect and flowing silhouette:
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: hem allowance – 1.5 cm, top upper edge allowance – 2.5 cm, other seams 0.8 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. Inscriptions on the patterns are on the right side!
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
