  • Knit fabrics of medium stretch (e.g., jersey, interlock, rayon knits)
  • Natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

  • Elastic thread

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: hem allowance for the garment and front facing - 1.5 cm; neckline allowance for the back and front - 1.5 cm; allowance for the upper edges of the sleeves - 1.5 cm; other seams 0.7 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need.

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Upper front – 1 piece on fold
    • Lower front – 1 piece
    • Front facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match! Markings are given on the right side. Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.

  1. Fold the lower edge of the front facing inwards and topstitch. Place the upper and lower front parts right sides together, insert the front facing between them, align the edges, and stitch. Overlock the allowance.
  2. Stitch the side edges and lower sleeve edges. Overlock the allowances.
  3. On the front and back, clip the allowance at the shoulder mark. Fold the allowance of the upper sleeve edge inwards, overlock, and topstitch.
  4. Create and secure arbitrary pleats on the front. Stitch the shoulder edges, press the allowances towards the back, and overlock.
  5. Overlock the neckline allowances of the back and front, press them to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  6. Overlock the lower edge of the garment, press it to the wrong side, and topstitch.
  7. On the back, mark the line for the decorative stitching. Stitch with elastic thread along the back and front. On the front, stitch along the seam line where the lower was attached.
  8. Secure the upper sleeve edges with hand stitches at the mark level.
