Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: hem and sleeve hem allowance – 1.5 cm. Other seams 0.8 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Back - 2 pieces
- Yoke – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Placket – 2 pieces
- Ruffle1 – 2 pieces
- Ruffle2 – 2 pieces
- Ruffle3 – 2 pieces
- Collar stand – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Placket – 2 pieces
- Upper collar stand – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
- Stitch darts on the front. Trim seam allowances with an overlocker.
- Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the seam allowance and press to the left side.
- Attach the yoke to the back. Overlock seam allowances and press downwards.
- Stitch shoulder seams. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Overlock the outer and lower edges of the ruffle with a rolled hem. Place ruffle2 right side up on ruffle3, then place ruffle1 on top. Along the inner edge of the ruffles, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach ruffles to the front. Fold plackets in half lengthwise and attach to the front. Slash the front at the corners to the mark. Press placket allowances inwards and secure from the inside with stitching. Topstitch the placket 0.1 cm from the ruffle attachment seam.
- Fold collar stands right sides together and stitch along the upper edge. Start and end stitching strictly at the marked collar attachment line. Attach the outer collar stand to the neckline. Fold the allowance of the inner collar stand inwards and topstitch.
- Set sleeves into armholes, matching marks. Overlock seam allowance.
- On the front, overlock the section from the bottom to the slash mark. Stitch the sleeve seam and side seams up to the slash mark. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
- Overlock the lower edge of the sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
- Overlock the lower edge of the blouse. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch. Press allowances along the slashes to the wrong side and topstitch.
- On the right front, overlock buttonholes, on the left, sew on buttons.
