Introducing a sophisticated midi-length a-line skirt pattern featuring an asymmetrical draped overlay panel on the front, held by decorative buttons.
This skirt is a versatile piece, perfect for:
Silhouette: An a-line midi skirt, designed to gracefully flare from the waist to a midi length.
Waist: Sits at the natural waist with a straight interfaced waistband.
Front: A separate overlay panel (Fly Piece) lies over the front skirt; its curved, hemmed edge falls in soft draped folds and is fixed to the skirt with four decorative buttons sewn through both layers.
Closure: An invisible zipper at the left side seam ensures a smooth fit, complemented by a single button and buttonhole closure on the waistband.
Hem: An asymmetrical hemline: the overlay panel drops to a long point at the side, highlighting the skirt's unique design.
Back: A clean A-line back cut in one piece on the fold.
Intermediate. This pattern requires neat finishing of the curved overlay panel edge, invisible zipper insertion, and waistband construction with a buttonhole.
Choose dense skirt fabrics that provide structure and a beautiful drape:
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance 2 cm. Allowance along the curved edge of the overlay panel (Fly Piece) – 1.5 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need. Attention! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
