Fabric Recommendations

Achieve the best drape and structure with fabrics that offer a soft hand and moderate body:

  • Thin suiting fabrics made from natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing
  • 1 button
  • Invisible zipper

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns are without seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need.

  • From main fabric:
    • Back Yoke – 1 piece
    • Back Skirt – 2 pieces
    • Front Skirt – 2 pieces
    • Front Yoke – 1 piece
    • Waistband – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Waistband – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Waistband.
  2. Stitch the center seam of the Back Skirt, press the seam allowances to the left side and serge.
  3. Along the upper edge of the Back Skirt, sew a line of stitching with loosened thread tension and gather. Attach the Back Yoke to the Back Skirt, press the seam allowances upwards and serge. Topstitch along the seam 0.5 cm from it to secure the allowances.
  4. Stitch the center seam of the Front Skirt, press the seam allowances to the left side and serge.
  5. Along the upper edge of the Front Skirt, sew a line of stitching with loosened thread tension and gather. Attach the Front Yoke to the Front Skirt, press the seam allowances upwards and serge. Topstitch along the seam 0.5 cm from it to secure the allowances.
  6. Serge the left side edges separately. Stitch the left side seam from the zipper notch to the hem. Press the seam allowances open. Insert the invisible zipper. Stitch the right side seam, press the seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  7. Fold the Waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the short end and the extension. Start stitching exactly at the marked line for attaching the Waistband to the skirt. Clip the seam allowances at the mark, turn the Waistband right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the Waistband to the upper edge of the skirt, turn under the allowance of the inner side and topstitch it into the attachment seam.
  8. Serge the hem allowance, press it to the wrong side and topstitch.
  9. Make a buttonhole on the Waistband. Sew on the button.
