Fabric recommendations: well-draping blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, invisible zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seam allowances – 1 cm, hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Back sleeve part – 2 pieces
- Middle sleeve part – 2 pieces
- Front sleeve part – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece on fold
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece on fold
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on front pieces, press allowances upwards.
- Attach the back sleeve part to the middle part, clipping the middle part at the corner. Press allowances towards the back part and overcast. Along the curved edge of the middle sleeve part between the marks, stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the front sleeve part to the middle part, press allowances towards the front part and overcast.
- Overcast the middle edges of the back separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom, press allowances open. Insert the zipper.
- Attach the front sleeve parts to the front from the mark to the armhole, press allowances open and overcast. Attach the back sleeve parts to the back, press allowances towards the sleeve and overcast.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the sleeve hem length + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the sleeve hem, right sides together, and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Stitch the sleeve hems and side seams in one continuous seam, press allowances and overcast.
- Stitch the front and back facing pieces together from the mark to the bottom. Clip allowances at the mark, press open. Overcast the outer edge of the facing. Place the facing with the garment, right sides together, and stitch the neckline edge and front slits. Clip allowances, trim corners, turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Secure the facing to the zipper tape and raglan seams.
- Press the bottom edge of the garment up by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, and topstitch.
