Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 5 buttons. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Top edge of pocket allowance – 2 cm. Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
CUTTER'S MUST
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Front – 2 pieces
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- Back Yoke – 2 pieces
- Front Facing - 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- Front Facing – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce pieces with fusible interfacing.
- On the back, form and secure the box pleat.
- Overlock the top edge of the pocket, fold the allowance, and topstitch. Fold the pocket allowances inwards and press. Place the pocket on the left front and topstitch.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back, and overlock.
- Overlock the outer edge of the front facing. Place the front facing on the front and the yoke neckline, and stitch. Clip allowances, turn the front facing to the wrong side, and press. Overlap the left back neckline on the right and secure at the center.
- Attach the back yoke to the back, press allowances downwards, and overlock.
- Stitch side seams, press allowances towards the back, and overlock.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the armhole, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards, and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
- On the right front, overlock buttonholes. Sew buttons onto the left front.
