Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, 2 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment – 2 cm; hem allowance for the sleeve bottom – 1.5 cm; other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

CUTTER'S MUST

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 1 piece on fold
  • Front - 1 piece on fold
  • Front placket – 4 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Front placket – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
2. Stitch the outer back neckline facing to the back neckline, press seam allowances towards the facing.
3. Fold the front plackets in pairs, right sides together, and stitch the outer edge. Clip seam allowances at the curve, turn pieces right side out, straighten, and press.
4. Attach the plackets to the front along the long edge, stopping 1 cm from the bottom. Clip the front seam allowance at the corners, stopping 1 mm from the stitching line. Create a pleat on the front, overlapping the right placket over the left. Stitch the ends of the plackets, folding back the front and securing the bottom edge. Overlock seam allowances.
5. Overlock the outer edge of the inner back neckline facing. Place the neckline facing onto the back and stitch the neckline edge precisely up to the marked shoulder seam line. Clip seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side, and press.
6. Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the front between the inner and outer back neckline facings, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
7. Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
8. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
9. Sew buttons onto the plackets, securing them.
