Blouse fabrics from natural or blended fibres, for example broderie anglaise.

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing (stand collar, cuffs)

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Seam allowance along the center front edge – 0 cm. Seam allowance along the bottom edge of the garment – 1.5 cm. Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to one Stand Collar piece and the Cuffs.
  2. Along the upper edge of the back between the marks, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the Yoke to the Back, press seam allowances upwards and overlock.
  3. Stitch the darts on the Front pieces, press the darts upwards.
  4. Cut a bias strip from the main fabric at a 45° angle, 4 cm wide and with a length equal to the front edge length + 4 cm. Press the bias strip in half lengthwise, right side out. Unfold the bias strip, press the raw edges towards the center. Press in half again. Bind the center front edges of the Front pieces with the bias strip. Overlap the right front piece over the left, aligning the center lines, and topstitch into the seam of the bias binding attachment.
  5. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
  6. Place the Stand Collar pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer contour. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked seam line for attachment. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the collar right side out and press.
  7. Attach the outer Stand Collar to the neckline, press seam allowances towards the collar. Turn under the open edge of the inner Stand Collar and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock. Along the lower edge of each sleeve, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Set sleeves into armholes, press seam allowances and overlock.
  9. Stitch each Cuff into a loop, press seam allowances open. Press the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out. Attach the outer half of the cuff to the gathered sleeve edge, press seam allowances towards the cuff. Turn under the open edge of the inner cuff and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  10. Overlock the seam allowance of the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
