FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: denim fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 1 separating zipper; lining fabric. Attention! For topstitching, threads of contrasting or matching colors are recommended.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance – 2.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back part - 2 pieces
    • Side back part - 2 pieces
    • Center front part – 2 pieces
    • Upper side front part - 2 pieces
    • Side 1 front part - 2 pieces
    • Side 2 front part - 2 pieces
    • Lower side front part - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm.
  3. Stitch the center back seam, serge allowances and press to the left side.
  4. Stitch the upper and side 1 front parts. Serge allowance and press upwards. Attach side 2 part to the bottom of side 1 part. Serge allowance and press downwards. Topstitch along the seams of the side parts. Attach the pocket lining to the lower side front part, turn the lining to the wrong side and press. Topstitch along the pocket opening. Place the lower part onto the side 2 part, aligning the pocket opening lines. Stitch the bottom edges of side 2 part and the pocket bag. Serge allowance. Secure the pocket along the side and princess seam edges.
  5. Serge the center front edges. Insert the separating zipper. Topstitch along the zipper at 0.5 cm to secure it. Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm.
  6. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  7. Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the front and back facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facings with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Stitch the armhole in two steps: first the back armhole, then the front armhole. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press. Secure to the main garment at the side seams and the zipper tape. Topstitch along the neckline and armholes.
  8. Serge the bottom edge of the sundress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
