CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all allowances – 1.0 cm; hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 2 pieces
    • Lower back part - 2 pieces
    • Upper front part - 1 piece on fold
    • Lower front part – 1 piece on fold
  • From lining fabric:
    • Upper back part – 2 pieces
    • Upper front part - 1 piece on fold

Lining pieces are cut according to the main fabric patterns.

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Stitch darts on back pieces. Press dart depths towards the center.
  2. Stitch darts on front pieces. Press waist dart depths towards the center, bust darts - upwards.
  3. Stitch shoulder and side seams of upper parts. Press allowances open.
  4. Stitch darts and seams on the lining of the upper dress parts. Place main fabric and lining right sides together and stitch around the neckline. Clip allowances, turn lining to the wrong side and press. Stitch armholes in two steps: first the front armhole, then the back armhole. Clip allowances. Turn lining to the wrong side and press.
  5. Secure lining and main fabric at the waistline, then treat as one piece.
  6. Stitch side seams of lower parts. Overlock allowances and press open. Form and secure pleats, depths directed towards side seams.
  7. Stitch upper and lower parts of the dress. Overlock allowance and press downwards.
  8. Overlock center back edges separately. Stitch center back seam from zipper to hem, press allowance open. Insert concealed zipper.
  9. Overlock hem allowance, fold to the wrong side and topstitch.
