This dress is designed for elegant simplicity, making it a perfect choice for:
Silhouette: a straight, relaxed-fit shift dress silhouette that skims the body without clinging.
Neckline: Classic jewel neckline for a clean and modest look.
Front Detail: Features elegant, sculpted pleats on the front bodice, creating visual interest and a refined drape.
Darts: Bust darts provide subtle shaping for a tailored fit.
Sleeves: Set-in sleeves finishing at a chic three-quarter length.
Back: Clean back with a discreet center seam and a concealed zipper closure.
Length: a versatile knee-length hem, suitable for various occasions.
Intermediate. Requires skills in managing pleats, inserting a concealed zipper, and applying facings for a neat finish.
Choose dress fabrics with some body and good drape to highlight the pleated detail:
If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve bottom – 2.0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
