Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: a concealed zipper; fusible interlining. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom of the garment and sleeve hem – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 2 pieces
    • Lower central back part – 2 pieces
    • Lower side back part – 2 pieces
    • Upper front part – 1 piece with fold
    • Lower central front part – 1 piece with fold
    • Lower side front part – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interlining:
    • Neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface the neckline facing with fusible interlining.
  2. Stitch the darts on the upper front and back parts. Trim the seam allowances with an overlocker and press towards the center.
  3. Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the upper parts. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back.
  4. Stitch the side seams of the lower back and front parts. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back. Along the upper edge, sew a gathering stitch with loosened upper thread and gather. Fold the placket in half lengthwise, right sides out, and press. Place the folded placket, fold down, onto the side parts and secure along the upper and princess seams.
  5. Stitch the princess seams of the lower front and back parts. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the center of the pieces.
  6. Stitch the upper and lower parts of the dress. Overlock the seam allowances and press upwards.
  7. Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem. Press open the seam allowances, pressing the zipper opening flat. Insert the concealed zipper.
  8. Overlock the outer edge of the neckline facing. Place the facing onto the right side of the dress and stitch the neckline. Clip the seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Attach the facing to the shoulder seams and center back seam.
  9. Stitch the sleeve seam, overlock the seam allowances and press towards the back. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press and overlock the seam allowances.
  10. Overlock the hem allowance of the dress and sleeve, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
