Silhouette: a comfortable, relaxed-fit dress with an adjustable drawstring waist that gently defines the figure and flows into an a-line skirt.
Neckline: a rounded neckline is enhanced with a V-notch detail, finished with a clean facing for a polished look.
Sleeves: Long set-in sleeves with neat cuffs provide a comfortable yet finished arm line.
Waist: a cased drawstring waist allows for adjustable cinching, creating soft gathers and a customized fit.
Pockets: Functional in-seam pockets with a curved opening are integrated into the front skirt panel for convenience.
Two-Tone Design: The upper bodice features a distinct panel, designed for contrasting or complementary fabrics to create a stylish color-block effect.
Back: a clean back design includes a subtle center seam in both the upper bodice and skirt for gentle shaping.
Intermediate. Requires working with low-stretch knit fabrics, constructing darts, assembling a faced notched neckline, creating a drawstring casing, and integrating shaped in-seam pockets and cuffs.
Choose knit fabrics with a low degree of stretch, made from natural or blended fibers, in contrasting or related colors for the two-tone effect:
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns are without seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance for the dress bottom – 2.0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
