Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: fleece, French terry, or dense knit fabric with medium to low stretch from natural or blended fibers. For trim – highly stretchy knit fabric matching the main fabric color. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: a zipper. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

CUTTER'S MUST

  • Front – 1 piece on fold
  • Back – 1 piece on fold
  • Front yoke – 2 pieces
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces
• From main fabric 1:
  • Bottom facing - 1 piece on fold
  • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • Collar stand – 2 pieces

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch the front yoke to the front along the princess seams up to the beginning of the lower edge. Clip the front allowance at the corner and serge.
2. Stitch shoulder seams. Serge allowances and press towards the back.
3. Set in the outer collar stand into the neckline, slightly stretching the stand. Press allowance towards the stand. Set in the zipper. Serge the lower edge of the inner collar stand. Place the inner collar stand right side down onto the outer collar stand and stitch the upper edge. Turn the collar stand to the wrong side and press. Topstitch the lower edge of the inner collar stand into the seam. Attach the center edge of the inner collar stand to the zipper tape. Topstitch 0.5 cm along the zipper teeth.
4. Zip up the zipper. Stitch the lower edge of the front yoke to the front. Serge allowance and press down. Topstitch along the contour of the yoke 0.5 cm from the seam.
5. Set in sleeves into open armholes, matching notches, press and serge allowances. Stitch sleeve seams simultaneously with side seams, press and serge allowances.
6. Stitch cuff into a loop. Press allowance open. Fold cuff in half lengthwise and press. Stitch cuff to sleeve, slightly stretching the cuff. Serge allowance.
7. Stitch bottom facing into a loop. Press allowance open. Fold facing in half lengthwise and press. Stitch facing to the bottom of the garment, slightly stretching the facing. Serge allowance.
