Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: low-stretch knit fabric made of natural or blended fibers, fleece, or flannel. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: knit fusible interfacing. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: All seams - 1 cm; hem allowance - 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Upper back part - 1 piece on fold
  • Lower back part – 1 piece on fold
  • Lower front part - 2 pieces
  • Upper front part - 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing (pieces are cut according to the upper patterns):
  • One-piece facing for upper front part – 2 pieces
  • One-piece facing for lower front part – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch the upper and lower back parts. Overcast the allowance and press it downwards.
2. Stitch the center seam of the one-piece collar, press the allowance open.
3. Stitch the shoulder seams, simultaneously setting the collar into the back neckline. Overcast the shoulder seams and press them towards the back.
4. Clip the allowance at the corner of the one-piece facing. Overcast the outer and shoulder edges of the facing. Turn the collar and facing to the wrong side, turn under the collar allowance and topstitch into the seam of the upper part. Along the edge, lay a securing stitch along the line indicated by the arrow. Press the collar. Attach the shoulder edge of the facing to the shoulder seam of the garment.
5. Turn the lower part of the collar along the fold line to the side seam and secure it along the lower edge.
6. Stitch the upper and lower front parts, inserting the upper part between the front and the one-piece facing of the lower part. Press the allowances downwards and overcast.
7. Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together, leaving tails, and stitch. Turn the binding to the wrong side, clip the allowances, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
8. Overcast the side seams separately. Stitch the side seams from the top to the slit mark, press the allowances open. Lay a securing stitch along the edge of the slit at 0.5 cm.
9. Overcast the hem allowance, press it to the wrong side, and topstitch.
