  • Back waistband — 2 pieces
  • Lower back part — 2 pieces
  • Upper front part — 1 piece on fold
  • Front waistband — 1 piece on fold
  • Lower front part — 1 piece on fold
  • Upper sleeve part — 2 pieces
  • Lower sleeve part – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces

From fusible interfacing:

  • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • Front neckline facing — 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the facings.
  2. Stitch darts on the upper and lower back pieces, press the dart allowances towards the center. Attach the back waistband to the upper back part, press seam allowances towards the waistband and overcast. Attach the lower back part to the waistband, overcast seam allowances and press towards the waistband. Overcast the center edges separately. Stitch the center edges from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open, pressing the zipper opening flat. Insert the zipper.
  3. Stitch darts on the upper and lower front pieces, press the dart allowances towards the center. Attach the front waistband to the upper front part, press seam allowances towards the waistband and overcast. Attach the lower front part to the waistband, overcast seam allowances and press towards the waistband.
  4. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
  5. Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back and front neckline facings. Overcast the outer edge.
  6. Place the neckline facing onto the right side of the dress and stitch around the neckline edge. Clip the seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Secure the center edges of the facings to the zipper tape.
  7. Form a box pleat on the lower sleeve part. Secure the pleat along the upper edge. Stitch the upper and lower sleeve parts. Overcast seam allowances and press upwards. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overcast seam allowances and press towards the back. Set sleeves into armholes, press seam allowances and overcast.
  8. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
