CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Back panel – 1 piece on fold
    • Back yoke – 1 piece on fold
    • Front panel – 2 pieces
    • Front yoke – 2 pieces
    • Waistband – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Waistband – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the waistband.
  2. Along the upper edge of the back panel, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the yoke to the back panel. Overlock the seam allowance and press it upwards.
  3. Along the upper edge of the front panel, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the yoke to the front panel. Overlock the seam allowance and press it upwards.
  4. Stitch and overlock the side seams, press the seam allowances towards the back.
  5. Overlock the bottom edge of the skirt, press it to the wrong side and topstitch.
  6. Fold the placket in half lengthwise and stitch the bottom corner. Start and end the stitching strictly at the marked placket attachment line. Attach the outer side of the placket to the skirt. Fold the seam allowance of the inner side to the wrong side and topstitch it into the attachment seam of the upper part.
  7. Attach the outer side of the waistband to the upper edge of the skirt. Stitch the ends of the waistband, trim the seam allowances at the corners and turn out. Fold the inner edge of the waistband and topstitch it into the attachment seam. Press the finished waistband.
  8. Mark and overlock buttonholes. Sew on buttons.
