- Left front facing - 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Interface the designated pieces with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch darts on back pieces, press allowances towards the center.
- Stitch princess seams of left and right front pieces, press allowances towards the center and overcast.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Attach the right front neckline facing and the left front facing to the back neckline facing, press allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the left front facing and facings with the main garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge and the edge of the left front. Clip allowances at curves, trim at corners.
- Fold the placket piece lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch the upper corner. Turn the piece right side out, shape, and press. Attach the outer side to the right front, turn under the allowance of the inner side and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Overlap the right front onto the left front and secure at the lower edge.
- Create a box pleat on the lower front piece. Stitch the upper and lower front pieces, press allowance downwards and overcast.
- Stitch side seams, press allowances towards the back and overcast.
- Overcast the allowance of the lower sleeve edge, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Stitch the sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and overcast. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches, press allowances and overcast.
- Overcast the hem allowance of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Make buttonholes on the placket. Sew buttons on the left front.
