When To Wear

This sophisticated top is perfect for adding a touch of elegance to various occasions, including:

  • Smart Casual Gatherings: Ideal for polished daytime events or evening cocktails with friends.
  • Work & Office Attire: Elevate your professional wardrobe with its refined design and structured appearance.
  • Special Occasions: Pair with dressy bottoms for celebrations, dinners, or semi-formal events.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: A fitted bodice that gently flares into a flattering peplum-style hem, featuring an asymmetric front panel.

Neckline: Classic round neckline, finished with a facing for a clean and smooth edge.

Closure: Discreet center back zipper closure ensures a smooth fit and easy wear.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. This pattern involves skills such as dart construction, zipper insertion, facing application, and careful assembly of knit fabrics, including an asymmetric front panel.

Fabric Recommendations

Choose medium-weight knit fabrics with good body and stability to best showcase the design's structure and drape:

  • Stable knits
  • Ponte di Roma
  • Double knits
  • Knit tweed

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing
  • Zipper

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Lower front part – 2 pieces
    • Lower back part – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces

Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker. Before doing this, trim seam allowances to 0.7 cm.
