- Strap – 4 pieces
- FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Interface the designated pieces with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the back neckline facing to the back, press seam allowances towards the facing. Stitch the front neckline facing to the front, press seam allowances towards the facing.
- Fold the strap in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long edge. Turn the strap right side out and press. Thread the straps through the buckle. Secure the ends of the straps. Adjust the length of the straps with buckles.
- Finish the center back seam allowance separately on each piece. Align the pieces along the center seam and secure at the upper edge of the vent. Finish the vent allowances. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the vent corner. Clip the corner of the vent seam allowance on the right side. Press open the center seam allowances, press the vent allowances towards the vent and secure them with machine stitching. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the front princess seams, inserting the straps, press seam allowances towards the center and finish.
- Stitch the back princess seams, inserting the straps, press seam allowances towards the center and finish.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and finish.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the inner facings, press seam allowances open. Finish the outer edge. Place the facings with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and topstitch into the seam of the outer facing attachment.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 6 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Turn the binding to the wrong side, clip the seams, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
- Finish the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
