Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce details with fusible interfacing.
- Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open, pressing the zipper opening flat. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the darts on the front. Press the depth of the upper dart towards the neckline, and the side dart upwards. Place the closed decorative zipper on the upper dart, with the slider at the dart's apex. Topstitch the zipper onto the dress from the right side.
- Attach the zipper to the lower and side parts. Attach the lining to the lower part of the zipper. Place the side panel on the pocket bag and topstitch along the zipper teeth, securing the lining. Close the zipper, stitch and serge the center edges of the pocket bags. Secure the side edges of the pocket bags together. Secure the side panel and pocket bag along the upper edge.
- Serge the center and lower edges of the detachable panel. Fold seam allowances inwards and topstitch. Place the detachable panel on the lower front part and secure along the side and upper edges.
- Stitch the upper and lower front parts. Serge seam allowances and press upwards.
- Stitch shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Set sleeves into open armholes. Serge seam allowances.
- Stitch side seams simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing with the garment right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip seam allowances. Turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure the facing to the main garment at the shoulder seams, center back seam.
- Serge the bottom edge of the dress and sleeves, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
