This waistcoat is the classic companion to a formal tailcoat, ideal for:

KEY DESIGN FEATURES
Silhouette: Fitted waistcoat with a cropped front length, shaped to balance with the long tails of a formal coat.
Collar: Flat collar lying neatly along the deep V neckline, creating a sharp tailored frame.
Closure: Three-button fastening at the center front.
Pockets: Two decorative welt pockets (faux welts).
Back: Streamlined back with shaping darts for a clean fit under a jacket, and an adjustable waist tie with buckle.
Lining: Full internal lining to neatly finish the front edges, armholes, and hem.
LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY
Intermediate. Precision is required when constructing welt finishes, setting the collar, and achieving a crisp tailored result.
SEAM ALLOWANCES
No seam allowances by default. If the option to add them at €1 is chosen, pattern will come with seam allowances included.
Please note: A single contour on the pattern pieces means no seam allowances are included. A double contour indicates seam allowances are included.

From Lining Fabric:
- Back – 4 pieces
- Back Tie (marked on pattern as “Strap”) – 2 pieces
- For drafting the Front lining, use Front pattern piece excluding center front facing area. Cut 2 pieces.
From Fusible Interfacing:
For drafting fusible interfacing patterns, use the following patterns without any modifications:
- Front – cut 2.
- Center Front Facing – cut 2.
- Collar – cut 4.
- Pocket Welt – cut 2.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Before cutting your fabric, print and lay out the paper patterns according to your fabric width (90–150 cm) to determine yardage. Remember to include paired and symmetrical pieces. Pay attention to pocket placement and balance lines when working with striped or patterned fabrics.
