- From fusible interfacing: waistband pieces, fly shield, fly, pocket facings.
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce waistband pieces, fly shield, fly, and pocket facings with fusible interfacing. (Heat-activated interfacings are pressed onto the wrong side of the piece with a hot iron).
- Stitch darts on the back pant panels and press them towards the center.
- On the front panels, create pleats, directing them towards the center, and baste to the upper edge.
- Process the welt pockets on the back pant panels: on the wrong side of the back pant, press a 4 cm wide strip of interfacing over the pocket marking.
- Topstitch the underlay to the lining. Press the pocket facing in half lengthwise, right side out.
- Pin the facing from below, with the fold away from the marked line, and the pocket bag with the underlay from above, with the raw edge to the marking, along the marked pocket opening line on the right side. Stitch 1 cm from the line.
- Cut the back pant lengthwise between the stitching lines, diagonally towards the ends of the stitching. Be careful not to damage the facings and pocket bags! Press the seam allowances towards the pants.
- Turn the facing and pocket bag to the wrong side to form a neat frame, and baste. From the right side of the pants, stitch exactly into the seam of the facing attachment.
- Turn the small triangles at the ends of the slit to the wrong side and topstitch to the facing exactly from the ends of one stitching line to the ends of the other.
- From the wrong side of the pants, stitch the free end of the pocket bag to the seam allowances of the facing attachment seams, press the pocket bags down, align, and stitch.
- Process the welt pockets on the front panels in the same way as on the back panels.
- Place the front lining on the main garment, wrong side to wrong side, baste along the edges, and continue to treat as one piece.
- Stitch the center seam of the front panels from the closure down 3-4 cm.
- Stitch the fly shield to the left pant, press it to the wrong side, and topstitch. Press the seam allowance on the right to the wrong side and baste the zipper tape, placing the teeth close to the fold.
- Fold the fly shield in half lengthwise, right side out, and overlock the longitudinal and rounded folds. Baste the overlock edge, placing it under the right side of the slit and the zipper.
- Topstitch the right side close to the edge, attaching the zipper and fly shield. Pin the center lines together. Pin the free zipper tape to the facing of the left side and stitch, without catching the front. Then topstitch the left according to the marking, catching the facing with the zipper.
- Stitch the side and inseams, overlock the seam allowances.
- Fold the belt loops in half lengthwise, stitch, and topstitch. Baste the belt loops to the upper edge of the pants: in front – over the pleats, in back – to the side of the darts closer to the side seams.
- Stitch the waistband pieces to the upper edge of the pants, attaching the closure seam allowance to the fly shield. Fold the waistband pieces in half lengthwise and stitch the front short edges.
- Stitch the unstitched section of the center front seam and, without breaking the stitching, the back center seam up to the upper edge of the waistband.
- Turn under the inner edges of the waistband and topstitch into the attachment seams. Turn the belt loops upwards and, turning under, sew to the upper edge of the waistband. Turn under the fifth belt loop and sew over the back center seam.
- Press the pant hem inwards, stitch according to the marking, turn to the right side, and hem with blind stitches above the seams. Make a buttonhole on the left side of the waistband. Sew a button on the right side.
