Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Interface the waistband and vent piece with fusible interfacing.
  2. Fold the flounce pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge between the round marks. Press the seam allowances open, clip curves, and trim corners. Turn the flounce right side out, straighten, press, and secure along the upper edge.
  3. Stitch the princess seams of the back, inserting the raw edge of the flounce into the left princess seam. Press seam allowances towards the center and serge.
  4. Stitch the left princess seam of the front, press seam allowances towards the center, and serge.
  5. Stitch the left side seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Secure the flounce to the upper edge of the skirt and the diagonal edge of the middle central front, creating a pleat on the flounce according to the marking. Stitch the upper central front to the middle central front. The stitching should end precisely at the marked line of the right princess seam. Clip the flounce allowance at this point. Press seam allowances upwards and serge.
  7. Turn the flounce and secure it to the diagonal lower edge of the skirt. Stitch the lower front-back to the skirt, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
  8. Stitch the right princess seam of the front, press seam allowances towards the side and serge.
  9. Fold the vent piece with the left central of the vent right sides together and stitch. Serge the center edges of the back separately on each piece, serging the vent simultaneously. Stitch the center seam from the zipper mark to the edge of the vent. Press the seam allowances open, pressing the zipper opening, press the vent allowances towards the left side seam. Press the right side of the vent by 1 cm and topstitch. Secure the vent allowances with machine stitching. Insert the zipper.
  10. Stitch the right side seam, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  11. Press the waistband in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Stitch the outer side of the waistband to the upper edge of the skirt, simultaneously stitching the waistband corners. Fold the inner edge of the waistband inwards and topstitch into the waistband attachment seam. Serge the buttonhole and sew on the button.
  12. Serge the lower edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side, and hem with blind stitches.
