Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the front facing and back facing.
- Fold the strap pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along the long side and one short side. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn the strap right side out, and press. Topstitch 0.1 cm from the edge.
- Stitch the back princess seams, inserting the straps. Press seam allowances towards the side seams and serge.
- Cut a bias binding from the main fabric, 4 cm wide and with a length equal to the side and bottom edges of the pocket (indicated on the front pattern piece). Press the bias binding in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, then unfold and press the edges towards the center. Bind the side and bottom edges of the pocket with the bias binding. Along the top edge of the pocket, stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather. Cut a bias binding for the top edge. Bind the top edge. Place the pocket on the front according to markings and topstitch along the binding seam.
- Stitch the shoulder and right side seams. Press seam allowances towards the back and serge. Serge the left side seam, stitch from the zipper mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open, pressing the zipper opening. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the shoulder and right side seams of the front facing and back facing, press seams open. Serge the outer edge of the facings. Place the facing pieces right sides together with the garment and stitch the neckline edge of the front and back. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the facing to the wrong side. Stitch the armhole in two steps: first the back armhole, then the front armhole. Turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Attach the left side seam seam allowances of the facing to the zipper seam allowance. Topstitch along the neckline and armholes.
- Serge the bottom edge, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
