Sewing Instructions
Tip: To keep the material stretchy in the finished seam areas, stitch the cut pieces with a narrow zigzag or special stretchy stitch. To keep the bottom edge stretchy, overlock the hem with an overlock stitch, then attach it using a twin needle. This also applies to finishing other edges of the garment that should not lose elasticity. These recommendations do not apply to industrial production.
- Attention! Before starting, check that your head fits through the collar sewn into a ring.
- Assembly of the upper. Attach the inserts to the front. Topstitch the inserts. Attach the inserts to the back. Topstitch. Attach the inserts to the sleeves. Topstitch the sleeves. Stitch the shoulder seam allowances. Set the sleeves into the open armhole. Topstitch the sleeve setting seam allowances along the armhole. Stitch the side seam allowances and sleeve seam allowances, leaving the slit areas unstitched.
- On the collar, mark and overlock the buttonholes for the cord. Stitch the collar into a ring. Fold in half. Lay a decorative stitch for the casing at a distance of 1.5cm from the fold. Set the collar into the neckline, positioning the collar stitching seam allowance at the left shoulder seam allowance. Topstitch the collar setting seam allowance with a stretchy stitch.
- Press up the hem of the bottom and sleeves. Topstitch the bottom of the garment, the slits, and the bottom of the sleeves.
- Press the jacket in its finished form.
- Insert the cord into the collar.
