Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the side seams of the upper skirt, overlock the seams and press towards the back. Stitch the side seams of the lower front skirt half and back skirt half, overlock the seams and press towards the back. Overlock the bottom edge of the upper skirt, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Overlock the side and shoulder edges of the central front and back. Stitch and press open the side and shoulder seams of the central back and front.
- Secure the upper skirt to the lower skirt along the upper edge at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge, sew a row of loosely tensioned stitches. Gather the edge of the piece to the desired size, distributing the resulting gathers evenly along the entire length.
- Place the bodice and skirt of the dress right sides together, aligning the side seams, and stitch. Overlock the stitching seam and press.
- Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, press, and bind the neckline edge of the front and back with it.
- Overlock the center seam of the dress, stitch up to the notch for the zipper and press open, pressing the zipper openings. Insert the zipper into the center seam of the dress.
- Along the sleeve cap, between the notches at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge, sew a row of loosely tensioned stitches. Gather the sleeve edge to the desired size, distributing the gathers evenly along the entire length. Overlock the bottom edge of the sleeve, fold up and topstitch at a distance of 1.2 cm. Cut elastic tape to size and thread it into the lower sleeve allowance. Stitch the sleeve edge and overlock. Press the stitching seam.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes according to the notches.
- Overlock the hem of the skirt, fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the bottom edge.
- Fold the belt right sides together and stitch around four sides, leaving an opening for turning. Turn out and press the belt, hand-stitch the opening closed. Secure the belt at the side seams with a bar tack equal to the width of the belt.
