Cutter's Must
- From main fabric:
- 1. Center back - 1 piece on fold
- 2. Side back - 2 pieces
- 3. Side front - 2 pieces
- 4. Collar - 1 piece
- 5. Center front - 2 pieces
- 6. Facing - 2 pieces
- 7. Sleeve - 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing: collar.
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the collar piece with fusible interfacing. (Iron-on interfacings are pressed onto the wrong side of the piece with a hot iron).
- Stitch the princess seams of the back and front. Press seam allowances open.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams. Press seam allowances open.
- Fold the collar piece in half lengthwise, right side out.
- Place the facings with the main garment, right sides together, insert the collar between them and stitch, making sure to slash the upper collar at the back neckline and only stitch the lower collar.
- Turn the facings to the wrong side, baste, and press.
- Fold the edge of the upper collar and topstitch into the seam.
- Stitch the sleeve seams.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes.
- Press the hem allowance to the wrong side, turn under, and topstitch.
- Press the hem of the main garment to the wrong side, turn under, and topstitch.
- On the left front, make buttonholes.
- On the right, sew on buttons.
