- 2. Under collar - 2 pieces
- 3. Upper collar - 1 piece on fold
- 5. Center front - 2 pieces
- 6. Front facing - 2 pieces
- 7. Back - 2 pieces
- 8. Side front - 2 pieces
- 9. Upper sleeve - 2 pieces
- 10. Lower sleeve - 2 pieces
- From lining fabric:
- 4. Pocket bag - 4 pieces
- 11. Back - 2 pieces
- 12. Front - 2 pieces
- 13. Upper sleeve - 2 pieces
- 14. Lower sleeve - 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the center back seam and the front princess seams, leaving the pocket openings unstitched.
- Place one pocket bag with the center front, right sides together, matching notches, and stitch.
- On the right side of the side front, place the lower of the pocket bag and stitch.
- Turn the pocket bags inward, align the edges, and stitch.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams.
- Stitch the under collar pieces, press the seam open.
- Stitch the collar along the ends and outer edge, turn right side out, and press.
- Place the collar with the neckline, right sides together, matching notches, and baste.
- Stitch the sleeve seams, press open.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes of the coat, matching notches.
- Press the sleeve hem allowance inward.
- Finish the garment hem allowance and press inward.
- Attach shoulder pads.
- Stitch the back neck facing to the front facings.
- Stitch the lining pieces similarly to the main garment.
- Stitch the front facings with the back neck facing to the lining.
- Finish the bottom of the lining with a turned-under hem with a closed edge.
- Place the lining with the main garment, right sides together, aligning the center back line and shoulder seams.
- Stitch the main garment to the lining along the front edges and neckline.
- Turn the garment right side out.
- Neatly hand-stitch the bottom of the lining sleeve to the hem.
- Make buttonholes on the right front according to notches and sew on buttons.
