Sewing Instructions
- Place the right pocket and lining right sides together, stitch all around, leaving a small unstitched section; turn right side out, press, and finish the pocket opening with a large basting stitch using yellow wool thread.
- Place the pocket onto the right front according to the markings and stitch 5 mm from the edges.
- Place the pocket flap pieces right sides together, stitch along the outer edges, turn right side out, press, and finish the fold with a basting stitch similar to the pocket.
- Stitch the left pocket and lining right sides together, stitch along the side and bottom edges, turn right side out, and press.
- Press the top edges of the left pocket and lining inwards, insert the raw edges of the flap between them, and stitch along the edge.
- Place the pocket with the flap onto the left front according to the markings and stitch similarly to the right pocket.
- Cut the trim strip in half and topstitch along the edges on the right side of the overlay yoke of the front at a distance of 1.5 cm from the front edge.
- Place the overlay yoke of the front and lining right sides together, stitch along the front and bottom edges, turn right side out, press, and topstitch decoratively at 5 mm.
- Place the overlay yoke wrong side onto the right side of the front according to the markings and baste along the shoulder edge and armhole.
- Form the dart along the top edge of the back according to the markings, press, and baste along the edges.
- Stitch the yoke to the back, aligning the notches, press seam allowances towards the yoke, and topstitch decoratively at 5 mm.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back yoke, and topstitch decoratively at 5 mm.
- Set in the sleeve into the armhole, aligning the notches, press seam allowances towards the armhole, and topstitch decoratively at 5 mm.
- Stitch the center seam of the hood, press seam allowances open, and topstitch decoratively on both sides of the seam.
- Set in the hood into the neckline opening right sides together, aligning the notches with the shoulder seams.
- Stitch the facing of the front edge of the hood to the hood lining and press seam allowances open.
- Stitch the sleeve hem facing to the sleeve lining hem right sides together and press seam allowances open.
- Stitch the lining pieces similarly to the main garment.
- Place the main garment and lining right sides together and stitch along the front edge of the hood, the front edges, the hem of the coat, the edges of the side vents, and the sleeve hems; turn right side out and press.
- Stitch the side and sleeve seams of the main garment in one continuous seam, stitch the side and sleeve seams of the lining where possible; turn the remaining unstitched edges of the lining inwards and sew with slip stitches.
- Stitch a securing seam along the neckline opening, joining the main garment and lining.
- Finish the front edge of the hood, the front edges, the sleeve hems, the hem, and the side vents of the coat with a decorative basting stitch using yellow wool thread.
- Work buttonholes on the right front according to the markings; sew on buttons.
- Sew tassels onto the corners of the overlay yokes of the front panels.
- Fold back the sleeve cuffs according to the markings.
