Fabric Recommendations

  • Blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers (e.g., linen blends, cotton batiste, rayon challis, Tencel twill)

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve – 2.5 cm. Other seams – 1.0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details).

  • From main fabric:
    • Back facing - 2 pieces
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Front - 1 piece on fold
    • Front facing - 4 pieces
    • Sleeve - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve tab - 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back facing - 1 piece
    • Front facing - 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the facings.
  2. Stitch the shoulder seams of the back and front facings, press allowances open. Fold the facings right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, turn the piece right side out, straighten, and press. Overlap the right side of the facing onto the left and secure along the allowances.
  3. Along the front cutout, stitch with a loosened top thread and gather.
  4. Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the garment, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  5. Attach the facing to the garment neckline, press allowances and serge.
  6. Fold the tabs lengthwise right sides together and stitch along the long and short edges. Turn right side out, trimming allowances at corners, straighten and press. Serge the open short edge. Topstitch the tabs according to markings on the wrong side of the sleeves.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seams, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and serge.
  8. Press the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves 1 cm to the wrong side, then another 1.5 cm and topstitch.
  9. Sew buttons onto the front facing. Serge buttonholes on the tabs, sew buttons on the sleeves.
