Loose Dolman Tunic with Shirred Waist

Tech. Description

Loose-fitting tunic. Set-in, long sleeve with a cuff. The bottom of the tunic is gathered with elastic thread. The neckline is round, finished with bias binding. Fastening on the shoulder with two buttons.

Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: lightweight fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: elastic thread; two buttons.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance – 4 cm, all other seam allowances 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Cuff – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the right shoulder seam of the tunic. Overlock the seam and press towards the back.
  2. Cut a bias binding equal to the neckline length and 4 cm wide. Fold in half lengthwise and press. Place the binding on the neckline edge, align the edges, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch 0.1 cm from the fold of the binding.
  3. Stitch the left shoulder seam of the blouse. Overlock the seam and press towards the back.
  4. Overlock the side seams and sleeve seams. Stitch the seams from the mark downwards. Press the seam allowances open.
  5. Along the slit, stitch 0.1 cm from the edge. Fold the cuffs in half right sides together and stitch the short sides and the step. Trim seam allowances at the corners, clip at the step mark. Turn the cuffs right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve. Fold the inner side of the cuff under and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  6. Overlock the bottom of the tunic, fold the edge inwards and topstitch. Stitch with elastic thread.
  7. On the cuffs, overlock buttonholes and sew on buttons.
