KEY DESIGN FEATURES

Silhouette: Straight double-breasted coat with a relaxed body and subtle shaping through the back seams.

Collar & Lapels: Structured notched collar with an upper collar stand for crisp tailoring.

Sleeves: Two-piece tailored sleeves with separate turn-up cuffs.

Details: Wide patch pockets with buttoned flaps, decorative back belt tab, and front button closure for secure fastening.

Back: Center-back seam for a clean, balanced finish.

Lining: Full lining for comfort and durability.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY

Advanced. Requires precision tailoring for the collar, sleeve cuffs, patch pockets, and back belt.

SEAM ALLOWANCES

No seam allowances by default. If the option to add them at €1 is chosen, pattern will come with seam allowances included.

Please note:

• A single contour on the pattern pieces means no seam allowances are included.
• A double contour indicates seam allowances are included.

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DIGITAL PATTERN 6016

Choose warm, stable coating fabrics with or without nap to achieve a structured drape:

• Wool or wool-blend coatings
• Heavy melton or cashmere wool
• Brushed or napped coatings for added texture

• Thin synthetic padding – 80 cm x 8 cm for additional structure

• Buttons – 9 pieces (approx. 25 mm)

From Fusible Interfacing:

Apply to the front facings, upper and under collars, collar stand, pocket flaps, back belt tab, pocket hem allowance, coat hem allowance, and designated front panel sections.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Before cutting your fabric, print and lay out the paper patterns according to your fabric width (90–150 cm) to determine yardage. Remember to include paired and symmetrical pieces.

When working with napped coatings (such as brushed wool or cashmere), pay attention to nap direction to ensure consistent color and texture.

Pattern 6016 offers both custom sizing based on individual measurements and ASTM US standard sizing:

• Bust: 35 cm to 170 cm
• Low Hip: 35 cm to 190 cm

The drafting software tailors the pattern to your specific dimensions, ensuring ideal fit at the shoulders, sleeve length, and back belt placement—minimizing alterations and enhancing comfort.
