Behind the Scenes with Me

I'm Anna & My Business is Fashion

Hi everyone,

I’m Anna, the founder of Minerva Patterns. I graduated in 1994 as a pattern cutter specializing in tailored outerwear and spent ten years in the fashion industry before stepping into business. When I returned, I found the landscape had changed: what was once scarce in specialized sewing patterns had become abundant. That made me realize the future wasn’t about reinventing every design from scratch, but about curating and re-imagining the wealth of patterns already available.

During my research, I discovered a company with over 30 years of expertise whose award-winning pattern-drafting program adapts professionally drafted sewing patterns to individual measurements. Their library now contains more than 3,000 styles for women, men, and children—each one originally created by skilled pattern designers using a consistent methodology and offered in DXF AAMA, PLT, and PDF formats.

My role

At Minerva Patterns, I distribute and curate this library of professional digital sewing patterns. My work is to:

  • Make them accessible to 3D designers, garment manufacturers, and advanced sewists
  • Ensure every style is delivered in the correct format, tailored to your requested measurements
  • Pair patterns with accurate CLO visuals, so what you see is exactly what the drafted pattern produces.

Why this matters

These patterns aren’t just files — they are tools for innovation. DXF AAMA and ASTM standards preserve every critical detail (grainlines, notches, annotations), making them seamlessly compatible with CLO3D, Browzwear, and CAD systems. That means faster prototyping, reliable virtual fitting, and fewer surprises between the digital and real garment.

My mission

By curating and sharing this library, I want to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern digital tools — empowering creators to work faster, smarter, and with confidence in both real and virtual fashion.
