Welcome to Royals Incognito where tartan slips into something unexpected—structured, mischievous, and ready to be seen. This collection is a playful rebellion and a reverent tribute rolled into one: a celebration of heritage, tailoring, and digital imagination.
Three years ago, I stumbled upon something that quietly transformed my creative life—Scottish tartan. I wasn’t looking for it, and I definitely didn’t plan to fall in love. But one winter afternoon, with a glass of whisky in hand and Etsy open on my screen, I came across a shop selling authentic Scottish wool. I ordered a few cuts out of curiosity. When they arrived, everything changed.
The fabric was rich, worsted, and heavy in the hand—exactly the kind of textile a tailor dreams of. I didn’t have to think; my hands already knew what to do. This wasn’t just fabric. This was history—woven, patterned, alive. And no, I’m not Scottish. But I am a tailor. A designer. A romantic. Someone who believes fabric can carry memory, and even the most classic textiles deserve a second act—especially one with attitude.
Tartan isn’t just beautiful. It’s bold. It mixes colors that shouldn’t work—greens, blues, reds, oranges—and somehow makes them sing. It tells stories of landscape, lineage, and legacy. Each thread, each sett, is tied to place and purpose. And yet today, these textiles have faded from everyday life. Royals Incognito is my way of bringing them back—not as costume, but as conversation. Not nostalgic, but newly alive.
Every garment in this collection is built using patterns from the Minerva archive and visualized entirely in Clo3D. Over the past three years, I’ve completed quite a few tartan outfits for clients and family—but I simply can’t sew every design I want to bring to life. So I turned to 3D simulation to drape, test, and refine each piece with precision. Clo3D lets me build with intention—zooming into sleeve caps, adjusting fit, styling with light and texture—until every design feels just right.
Each look is rendered in tartan textures I’ve created myself, based on authentic patterns and true-to-scale thread counts. These are not approximations or stylized guesses—they’re historically accurate patterns registered with The Scottish Register of Tartans and reproduced in Clo3D exclusively for this project. Whether you’re a 3D designer, a tailor, or someone who simply appreciates the beauty of structure and symbolism, Royals Incognito offers you a glimpse into an alternate wardrobe—one that could exist, if only history had taken a different turn.
You’ll find jackets, skirts, dresses, and more—each one dressed in tartan, each one full of personality. Some are proper. Others are cheeky. All are styled with a wink and a sharp silhouette. Think: queens in gold sunglasses, elegance with edge, and centuries-old wool strutting around the metaverse.
These are garments for women who don’t need crowns to feel majestic. Their power is quiet, their presence undeniable.
Royals Incognito isn’t about looking back. It’s about rewriting the rules.
Tartan is back. And it’s undercover.
